Rape and Indecent Assault

Definitions

Any person who has unlawful carnal knowledge of a woman or girl, without her consent, or with her consent, if the consent is obtained by force or by means of threats or intimidation of any kind, or by fear of bodily harm, or by means of false representations as to the nature of the act, or, in the case of a married woman, by personating her husband, is guilty of the felony termed “rape”.

Any person who unlawfully and indecently assaults any woman or girl is guilty of a felony termed “Indecent Assault”.

IG COMMENDS LAUNCH OF SACCORD/DCAF ACCOUNTABILITY PROJECT

The Inspector General of Police, Graphel Musamba, has commended the launch of the Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) and Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) three-year project, dubbed “Strengthening the Accountability of the Zambia Police and Ensuring Effective Security During Elections and Beyond.”
